Visit to see Santa

Wow, I have been so busy lately.  I’ve been making layouts of last Christmas photos like crazy.  Today I can show you this one made with Sparkle On  by Aimee Harrison Design Studios.  It is now available on Gotta Pixel as a part of the Gotta Grab It specials.  Each month Gotta Pixel designers create products around a given color scheme and all the designs go together so you can pick and choose what you what, and everything matches.  This month the colors are great traditional Christmas colors. Here’s some of the parts of the kit.  There is also glitter styles and several alphas–all now on sale.

My layout features William and Sarah’s visit with Santa in December 2011.  Aren’t they just darling!  I used the products to make a page that looks like a Christmas gift.

Changing seasons and new scrapping layouts

Good Monday morning.  I hope you all had a great weekend and expressed your gratitude to a veteran somewhere–if you are in the USA or Canada.

I have two different layouts to show you today that are both done with new scrapbooking supplies from the very talented Aimee Harrison. First is So Thankful, released today at Scrapbook Bytes.  This kit has great fall colors and lots of parts to choose from.

I chose to title my layout So Thankful also.  After all the destruction from Hurricane Sandy, I was reminded how fortunate we were that we were not affected by the storm.

Next is a layout using photos of snow last year.  Here in Georgia, we don’t get much snow, in fact most years we don’t get any at all.  We were looking out the window and saw a red bird looking back at us.  I just knew he was saying “all my food is under the snow”  So my husband went out and cleaned the snow off the wall and put out bird seed.  In about ten minutes, the birds had found their food.  How did they know it was there???  Look below!

For this I used Winter Dawn that you can find  today at Gotta Pixel.  It is part of their Gotta Grab It offerings this month. If you hurry, it is on sale.

Here’s hoping you have a wonderful week and are making those plans for Thanksgiving with family!

Fall leaves and appreciating autumn beauty!

Today I would like to share a scrapbook page featuring a beautiful scene of a fall foliage.  Actually the photo does not accurately show how bright and intense the color was on that sunny day.  I took this photo on the Oak Hill Museum grounds of Berry College in Georgia.

For this layout I used a gorgeous kit and collection called Autumn Beauty by Aimee Harrison Design Studios.  Here’s the Autumn Beauty collection. As you can see below, it is available now at a special reduced release price.  Get it now!

Fall is here and Halloween is not far away! What’s new today?

Today I have two great new products and several new layouts for you to see. First lets look at a new fall kit called Blustery Day from Aimee at Aimee Harrison Design Studios.  Aimee has such as talent for putting together beautiful, high quality scrapbook kits and this one is no exception.

When I saw the name of this kit, I immediately thought of what kids like to do (at least in my childhood) on a windy day–fly a kit.  This layout features my grandson William (age 5) doing just that.  I was surprised to learn from my daughter that this was done on a day when a hurricane was approaching where they live.  Guess that is one way to take your mind off the coming storm!

Next is a new release today called All Hallows Eve from Stephanne at Snips and Snails.  This is a traditional Halloween collection featuring lots of elements, patterned paper, solid papers, paint splatter type overlays, and very cute treat bag toppers.  Just click on the image below to go to her store and see more layouts made with this collection.

I made two layouts with this collection.   The first is of grandson William at age 2 as little Frankenstein. He was so cute he would have never spooked anyone!

Next is a page featuring a photo that Kathryn (Dream Big Photography) took while her family was going around the neighborhood Trick or Treating last year.  This neighbor’s yard just looks spooky to me!

All of the photos in these layout were taken by my very talented daughter Kathryn, aka Dream Big Photography.  Check out her new blog here.

That’s it for today.  I’m off to do some traveling.  Be back soon!

New layouts today featuring Autumn Sunset and Vellum Products

Well it’s Friday and reveal day for new kits from two of my favorite designers.  First let’s look at Autumn Sunset-a collection of digital scrapbooking supplies by Aimee Harrison Design Studios and Scrappy Cocoa Designs.  The collection is available at Digital Scrapbooking Studio.  Just click on the image to go there.

My first layout with this kit uses a photo taken at Panama City Beach  last October during our annual beach party there with friends.  Several of us were out taking photos that night. I shot a series of the sun going down.  We were watching for some alleged halo flash the sun does just as it goes down, but none of us saw it that night.

The second layout is of cute little Sarah last November in her favorite pink boots.  Kathryn, aka Dream Big Photography,  took the fabulous photos.

New this week also are some Vellum Products from Snips and Snails Designs that are just stunning.  They can be found at One Story Down by clicking on the image below to go there. I also used a kit that I love called Afternoon Tea–also at  One Story Down.

Now for the layouts I made with these products…

I just absolutely fell in love with this photo the first time I saw it.  It is priceless!  Again, one of Kathryn’s masterpieces–taken in Sarah’s room with her “reading” to her Rapunzel doll.  I just love that expression on Sarah’s face!  I was waiting on the right supplies to scrap this photo and these were perfect!

Next is a page featuring me–something I rarely do is to do a scrapbook page about myself.  I thought the neutral papers and elements from the kit Neutral LO Essentials would go well with the vellum.

That’s it for today.   Next week will be layouts with  fall and Halloween kits.  Check back again.

My Collection and Sneak Peek for Friday

I wanted to show you a wonderful kit call Oh So Folksy by Aimee Harrison.  This is not a new kit but one I think is perfect for fall in any year.

Here’s my layout featuring one of my collections.  I have always collected things and have many different type collections.  This is one I started probably 25 years ago and still add a piece if I find something special.  As you can read in the journaling, the pieces are all made by the same company and have their trademark cat somewhere on the piece.  I was surprised to find one last year in Alaska in an art studio in Juneau.

And here’s the Sneak Peak for Fisherman’s Wharf by Aimee that will be released on Friday.  I have made a layout with this kit so be sure to check it out on Friday for the unveiling.

Sneak Peek

Here’s a sneak peek at Wine Country by Aimee Harrison to be released on Friday.  This is a beautiful kit with lots of rich colors.  Perfect for wine lovers and anyone else who can appreciate these lovely colors.

I have completed two layouts with this kit and will reveal those on Friday.  Come back and see them then.

Beach Layouts using Vintage Summer collab

T.G.I.F. and I can show you the beautiful new digital scrapbooking collection called Vintage Summer and two scrapbook pages I made using this collection.  This collection is by three of my most favorite designers, Aimee at Aimee Harrison Design Studios, Stephanne at Snips and Snails Designs and Christine at Digilicious Designs. Here’s the collection.  If you cliclk on the image, you can go to one of the stores where you can see it up close.

It can also be found at Digital Scrapbooking Studio store.

And here are two layout I made using this collection.  I just love the soft dreamy colors! The first is cute little Sarah on the beach during the recent family vacation in Florida.  The second is Kathryn and Michael kissing on the beach.  The sky in this photo is a beautiful backdrop for a special picture to remember. Both photos are by Kathryn, a.k.a. Dream Big Photography.

Backyard BBQ

Good Sunday morning whereever you are.  This has been a beautiful summer day here in Georgia.  Later today we–or should I say my husband Joe– will be cooking ribs on the grill.  I thought I would post a layout I did recently called Backyard BBQ, made from a digital scrapbooking kit by the same name from Aimee Harrison and Snips and Snails. Most of these photos were taken at a Labor Day party in the past couple of years.  Always fun to have a group of friends for a party!

Summers in Sconset new kit and layouts today

Another beautiful new digital scrapbooking kit and collection today called Summers in Sconset.  This is a kit designed by Aimee Harrison remembering growing up and spending summers on Nantucket Island.  Here’s how Aimee describes this: “Siasconset is a small village on the east side of Nantucket Island that is just so quaint and beautiful. Almost every home on Nantucket is gray shingled and white trimmed. And in Sconset there are just loads and loads of flowers – mostly roses – that hang all over the houses. It’s gorgeous.”  Sounds lovely.  I have never been to Nantucket, but love this look.  Here’s a look at the kit and the two layout–very different that I made with it.

This kit can be found at Digital Scrapbooking Studio.

First layout I made with this kit features a photo Kathryn took on their vacation this summer.  Sarah and William with the ocean behind them is very soothing.  In this layout, I was going for that Nantucket look with the grays and roses.

The second layout is a fanciful layout featuring some beautiful roses we saw growing next to the drive thru at our dry cleaners.  I don’t know how such beautiful roses grow in about a 24 x 24 inch area of soil. The bush was full of pink roses that were each about 4-5 inches across.

Tomorrow I will post two more layout I made this week for another designer.
